Theological overview

This conference paper brings the theology of receiving and the theology of giving into a shared Orthodox understanding of stewardship. It connects diligent and ethical labor, just compensation, and responsible care for entrusted resources with the calling to give in humility and love. Drawing on Scripture and patristic teaching, it considers almsgiving as a spiritual discipline that responds to human need while confronting attachment to wealth and self-love. Its central invitation is to understand work and material blessings within a life directed toward God, service to others, and spiritual growth.
