A Bibliometric Analysis of Algorithmic Governance and Employee Experience in The Modern Workplace

Research overview

As AI increasingly shapes recruitment, work allocation, monitoring, and performance evaluation, how can organizations preserve a positive employee experience? This study maps 295 peer-reviewed articles to examine the relationship between algorithmic governance and employees’ experiences of work. It identifies a growing shift from platform-based control toward responsible AI, with increasing attention to fairness, autonomy, trust, and well-being. Transparency, accountability, opportunities to challenge decisions, and human oversight emerge as central themes. For organizational leaders and HR professionals, the research provides a framework for approaching AI adoption as a question of organizational governance and employee dignity, alongside technological efficiency.
